Vodafone Welcomes a Seasoned Financial Strategist as New Non-Executive Director
Vodafone Group Plc has announced a series of strategic Board and Committee changes set to take effect following its 2025 Annual General Meeting, pending shareholder approval. At the heart of these changes is the appointment of Anne-Françoise Nesmes as a Non-Executive Director.
With an impressive career in global finance, Nesmes brings a wealth of experience from senior leadership roles across healthcare, pharmaceuticals, and entertainment. Most recently, she served as Chief Financial Officer at Smith + Nephew PLC. Her corporate governance credentials are equally noteworthy—she currently sits on the Board of Compass Group PLC as Senior Independent Director and chairs the Audit Committee.
In tandem with this appointment, Vodafone also announced that David Nish will step down after nine years on the Board, concluding his roles as Senior Independent Director and Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee. Simon Segars will succeed him as the new Senior Independent Director.
Nesmes holds a master’s from Grenoble Business School, an MBA from Henley Management College, and is a Chartered Management Accountant. Her global perspective and deep financial insight are expected to add significant value to Vodafone’s evolving governance framework.
