Ur-Energy Appoints Jade Walle as Chief Financial Officer to Succeed Roger Smith
Ur-Energy Inc. names Jade Walle as its next CFO, effective December 1, 2026, following the planned retirement of Roger Smith. Walle brings 30 years of experience in accounting, financial reporting and capital markets.
Ur-Energy Inc. (NYSE American: URG), a uranium mining company based in Casper, Wyoming, has announced the appointment of Jade Walle as its next Chief Financial Officer. The leadership transition will take effect on December 1, 2026, when the company’s current CFO and Chief Administrative Officer, Roger Smith, retires after a 45 year career in mining finance and accounting.
Walle currently serves as Vice President of Finance at Ur-Energy, having joined the company in September 2025. Since joining, he has contributed to capital markets transactions, the implementation of accounting standards and the management of the company’s finance and accounting operations.
A Certified Public Accountant with approximately 30 years of professional experience, Walle previously worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP (PwC), where he served as an audit partner from 2011 to 2024. During his career at PwC, he advised companies across several industries, including publicly traded energy and mining businesses, and gained experience in financial reporting, corporate accounting and capital markets.
His professional background also includes working with PwC’s Global Capital Markets Group in London, where he supported international companies with US capital market transactions and Securities and Exchange Commission reporting requirements. He has also held leadership responsibilities within PwC’s Center of Excellence and its Acceleration Center in India.
Walle holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Accounting from Oklahoma State University.
As part of the executive leadership transition, Ur-Energy will eliminate the Chief Administrative Officer position and distribute its responsibilities among members of senior management. Roger Smith is also expected to continue supporting the company in an advisory capacity following his retirement.
The appointment brings Walle’s financial management and capital markets experience to Ur-Energy’s executive leadership as the company continues developing its uranium production operations in the United States.
