Entergy Texas Names David Borde as President and CEO

David Borde has been appointed President and CEO of Entergy Texas, succeeding Eliecer Viamontes, effective October 5, 2026.

Entergy Texas has named David Borde as President and CEO, effective October 5, succeeding Eliecer Viamontes, who has departed the company to pursue other opportunities.

Borde currently serves as Vice President, Utility Strategy and Regulatory Initiatives at Entergy. In this role, he supports the company’s operating businesses in executing its customer-centric strategy, including regulatory and tariff filings and providing strategic and regulatory guidance. His experience in regulatory affairs has helped the company respond to evolving customer needs and expectations.

Borde joined Entergy in 2009 as Director of Corporate Development based in Texas. He later served as Vice President of Investor Relations and held various leadership positions within the company, including roles in its utility finance business partner organisation. Prior to joining Entergy, he worked in the investment banking division of Citigroup USA and as an attorney at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett.

Entergy Chair and CEO Drew Marsh said Borde brings extensive experience in utility strategy, regulatory affairs and utility finance along with a strong understanding of the company and its customers. Marsh added that Borde will build on Entergy Texas’ existing foundation while advancing its commitment to providing safe, reliable and affordable energy to the communities it serves.

Borde earned a Juris Doctor degree from Duke University School of Law in 2001 and holds a degree in business from the University of Paris.
