HAL Appoints Anindya Biswas as Government Nominee Director

Hindustan Aeronautics Limited has appointed Anindya Biswas, DS & DG (Aero), DRDO, as a Part-time Official Director and Government Nominee Director, effective October 7, 2026, succeeding Dr K Rajalakshmi Menon.

Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) has appointed Anindya Biswas as a Part-time Official Director (Government Nominee Director) on its Board, effective October 7, 2026. Biswas, who serves as Distinguished Scientist and Director General (Aero) at the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), succeeds Dr K Rajalakshmi Menon.

Biswas joined DRDO in 1992 and has contributed to the indigenous design and development of several missile systems and advanced avionics sub-systems. His work has also focused on developing technologies and working models for future weapon systems.

He has supported collaborative initiatives involving academia, startups and young scientists to advance research and technology development. In recognition of his contributions, Biswas has received the DRDO Young Scientists Award and the Scientist of the Year Award.

Biswas holds a degree in Electronics and Telecommunications from Bengal Engineering College, Shibpur, and an M.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering from IIT Kharagpur.
