RB Global Announces Executive Leadership Changes and Key Appointments
RB Global has promoted Steve Steinberg to CFO, Shiv Dutt to Chief Digital and Strategy Officer, Jake Lawson to President of HE&T North America and Sam Wyant to President of Automotive, effective October 9, 2026.
RB Global Inc., a global equipment marketplace operator, has announced a series of executive leadership appointments and organisational changes to support its next phase of growth. The changes are intended to strengthen business accountability, align leadership responsibilities with key growth priorities and improve operational performance.
Steve Steinberg has been promoted to Chief Financial Officer, succeeding Eric Guerin, who will depart the company. Steinberg has been with RB Global for more than 10 years and brings over 30 years of experience across finance, accounting, business operations, pricing, commercial programme management and strategy. Most recently, he served as Senior Vice President and Head of Strategic Planning and Decision Support, overseeing strategic portfolio management, global financial planning and analysis, commercial operations, pricing and field enablement.
Shiv Dutt has been appointed Chief Digital and Strategy Officer in a newly created role. He will lead the company’s enterprise technology, digital and mergers and acquisitions strategies while continuing to oversee Product and Engineering for the Heavy Equipment and Transportation (HE&T) business. Dutt brings more than 20 years of global leadership experience across digital marketplaces, consumer products and multi-channel innovation. He most recently served as Executive Vice President and Head of Ritchie Bros. Marketplace.
Jake Lawson has been promoted to President, HE&T North America. He will oversee consolidated sales, operations, marketing, commercial operations, training and analytics for the business unit. Lawson has more than 25 years of experience with Ritchie Bros., holding several executive sales leadership positions, most recently as President and Head of North America Sales.
Sam Wyant has been appointed President, Auto North America and International, leading the Automotive business. His responsibilities will include sales, seller marketing, commercial operations, strategic accounts, regional sales and international automotive operations. Wyant brings more than 20 years of sales and commercial leadership experience across the automotive and heavy equipment industries, including senior roles at IAA, Ritchie Bros. and Volvo Construction Equipment.
As part of the leadership transition, Chief Operating Officer Steve Lewis will also depart the company. CEO Jim Kessler thanked Guerin and Lewis for their contributions to RB Global’s growth and development.
Steinberg said his priorities as CFO will include margin expansion, maintaining balance sheet flexibility, disciplined capital allocation, returning capital to shareholders through dividends and share repurchases and investing strategically to support profitable growth.
