Lemon Tree Hotels Appoints Patanjali Govind Keswani as Non-Executive Chairman

Lemon Tree Hotels Limited has approved the appointment of its founder and current Chairman, Patanjali Govind Keswani, as Non-Executive Chairman, effective April 1, 2027.

Lemon Tree Hotels Limited has approved the appointment of its founder and current Chairman, Patanjali Govind Keswani, as Non-Executive Chairman of the company, effective April 1, 2027. The decision was approved by shareholders at the company’s 34th Annual General Meeting held on September 18, 2026, with the resolution receiving 97.20% votes in favour.

Keswani founded Lemon Tree Hotels in 2002 and has played a key role in building the company into one of India’s prominent hotel chains. He has held executive and board-level leadership positions at the company since its inception.

The transition is part of Lemon Tree Hotels’ leadership succession plan. Neelendra Singh was appointed Managing Director in September 2025, following which Keswani began a phased transition from executive management to a board-level role.

Under the new arrangement, Keswani will continue to provide strategic direction and board leadership as Non-Executive Chairman, while day-to-day executive responsibilities will remain with the professional management team led by Singh.

The move marks another step in Lemon Tree Hotels’ transition from a founder-led enterprise towards a professionally managed organisation, while retaining Keswani’s strategic involvement at the board level.
