Ameera Shah Completes Tenure As Independent Director Of Torrent Pharmaceuticals

Metropolis Healthcare Executive Chairperson Ameera Shah retires from the Board of Torrent Pharmaceuticals after completing her tenure as Independent Director.

Ameera Shah has completed her tenure as an Independent Director of Torrent Pharmaceuticals Limited and consequently retired from the company’s Board, with effect from August 1, 2026.

Shah is the Promoter and Executive Chairperson of Metropolis Healthcare Limited, where she has transformed the organisation from a doctor led practice into one of the leading diagnostic chains across India and Africa.

Under her leadership, Metropolis Healthcare has expanded its network to more than 750 towns across India while building a reputation for scientific excellence and patient centric healthcare services. Over the past two decades, she has led the company’s growth, private equity fundraising, and successful public listing in 2019.

Shah has received several prestigious recognitions, including the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award in Healthcare. She has also been featured by Forbes Asia, Fortune India, and Business Today for her contributions to the healthcare industry and business leadership.

A finance graduate from the University of Texas at Austin and an alumna of Harvard Business School, Shah serves on the Boards of leading companies and actively promotes women’s entrepreneurship through the Udaiti Foundation.
