Anglo American Appoints Non-Executive Director Anne Wade as Senior Independent Director with Immediate Effect, Succeeding Ian Tyler, Who Remains on the Board

Anglo American PLC has promoted Non-Executive Director Anne Wade to Senior Independent Director, effective immediately. She succeeds Ian Tyler, who has held the position since April 2022 and will continue serving on the company’s board as an Independent Non-Executive Director and Chair of the Remuneration Committee.

Wade joined the London-based mining company’s board in January 2025. She also serves as Chair of Man Group PLC, a London-listed investment management company, and brings extensive experience from her executive career in asset management, primarily at Los Angeles-based Capital Group.

At Anglo American, Wade currently serves on the Audit, Remuneration and Sustainability committees. Following her appointment as Senior Independent Director, she will also join the Nomination Committee, expanding her involvement in the company’s board-level governance and oversight.

Anglo American said the leadership change follows a review by Tyler of his existing board commitments. Chairman Stuart Chambers highlighted Wade’s contributions since joining the board in 2025, noting that she has brought valuable insights from her experience as a non-executive director and her career in capital markets.

Tyler will continue contributing to the board in his existing capacity as an Independent Non-Executive Director while retaining his role as Chair of the Remuneration Committee.

The appointment marks a change in Anglo American’s board leadership as the company continues its governance and oversight responsibilities.
