Clarkson PLC Confirms Niamh Staunton’s Appointment as Chief Financial Officer and Executive Director, Succeeding Jeff Woyda

Clarkson PLC has confirmed that Niamh Staunton will join the company as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Executive Director on November 11, 2026. The London-based shipping services company first announced her appointment in June, with Staunton moving from energy major BP PLC to take up the role.

Staunton currently serves as Senior Vice President for Finance and Risk in BP’s Supply, Trading and Shipping division. Her previous responsibilities at BP also include the role of Group Treasurer, giving her experience across financial management, risk and treasury operations.

At Clarkson, Staunton will succeed Jeff Woyda, who has stepped down from his positions as CFO and Chief Operating Officer after 19 years with the company. Her appointment marks a change in the company’s senior financial leadership as it prepares for the transition.

Clarkson has also made changes to its operational leadership this year. In May, the company appointed Harriet Oliver as Chief Operating Officer, moving her from her previous role as Head of Human Resources.

Founded nearly 175 years ago, Clarkson provides shipping services and operates in the global maritime industry. Staunton’s appointment brings financial and risk management experience from the energy sector to the company’s executive leadership team.
