Sharad Mathur Takes Charge as Managing Director and CEO of IndusInd General Insurance

IndusInd General Insurance names Sharad Mathur as its new MD and CEO, bringing over 30 years of experience in the insurance and financial services industry.

IndusInd General Insurance Limited has appointed Sharad Mathur as its Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer. With three decades of industry experience, Mathur brings expertise in business transformation, distribution network expansion, technological innovation, organisational growth and corporate governance.

Prior to joining IndusInd General Insurance, Mathur served as the Managing Director and CEO of Universal Sompo General Insurance for over six years. During his leadership, he focused on strengthening distribution channels, enhancing risk management practices, maintaining underwriting discipline and improving customer service through technology.

Mathur holds a postgraduate qualification in Management from the Indian Institute of Planning and Management and a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Industrial Relations from Delhi College of Arts and Commerce, University of Delhi. He has also pursued executive education in leadership, change management, corporate governance and mergers and acquisitions strategy at the Indian School of Business, Harvard Business School, the Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs and the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
